Rutland Water

So, we had such a lovely day out and about.  We went to Rutland Water, one of the biggest artificial lakes in Europe. By surface area, it is the largest reservoir in England and  Anglian Water’s drinking water reservoir in the county of Rutland, England. (Source)

The picture below is The Great Tower sculptured by Alexander on the shore of Rutland Water and from there, you can see a  limnological  tower that keeps all the instruments used to  measure the water temperature and quality.

It is a gorgeous scenery and peaceful location great for family day out.  Massive clear paths all the way around the reservoir for walking and cycling.  Ssssh! I don’t ride a bike. I mean, I can’t cycle at all.  20141012_130946 With the Little Miss, we didn’t get to walk around the lake as she was more interested in the adventure play area for kids that has lots of things to explore. She was having a great time that I have to trick her so we can leave, did it work? Nopes!  Not even with that chocolatey treats. It really is a beautiful place for kids to have fun. Everything is well looked after.

For now, I can only share lots of photos for you but do check this place out if you’re up for leisurely stroll and fresh air.
