Over the furore of spring’s arrival, I have been on a look out for local places that we could go for a day out. This is my second year in the UK and I am way over with my simmer down moment after years of travelling. I want to do more than my post office and local park trips unless hubsy will organise somewhere to go.
Knowing that Saturday will be double figures. Woop Woop! I made a plan for a day out in Ferry Meadows. The Little Miss was so excited, thinking she is actually going to “fairy land” and find fairies, elves, goblins and even Gaston the ladybird in Ben and Holly’s little Kingdom.
Ferry Meadows it is. It’s in the heart of Nene Park in Peterborough. Deep breath. This place is beautiful! Massive place for walks and loads of wildlife. We paid £4 for the parking and we’re off for some fun, basically let loose like a dog off a leash. Not with the Little Miss though, her bike has a leash on it just incase she gets tired of pedalling and that didn’t last long either. She wants to walk, run and play.
We checked the duck feeding platform so Livi could see the ducks, swans and birds but, we didn’t get to feed the them though as I didn’t bring anything let alone our lunch. But, lunch is not much of an issue as there is cafe in there which is lovely too. There are lots of tables for picnics too which I am going to do when we go back.
We missed to go on a miniature train ride which is taking you in many of the Park’s features. That didn’t happen as the Little Miss was having so much fun in the children’s play area and have a wander around with us. That means we have to go back again anytime soon. Yay!
We also explore the woods, we didn’t find the fairies that Olivia was after but we did had so much fun wandering around.
We will definitely be going back for a picnic and the train ride.
I have taken so many pictures and I’d love to share them with you but I don’t think, you will be too happy scrollind down over and over again. So here’s a short clip of our fun:
