Chessington World of Adventures

[slideshow_deploy id=’5865′]

First day of summer was Olivia’s birthday-she turned four.  She wanted a party like any other little girls would want for their special day.  She keeps talking about it especially when she gets invited to other parties- princess party in particular.  As parents we want it to be just a family time and keep it simple.  I am not very good in hosting parties…maybe I will try harder next year.  So, we tried our luck  by asking her if she wants to go on an adventure with just mummy and daddy.  She did a lot of thinking and thankfully she agreed and up for an adventure as long as there is penguin involve so, we took her to Chessington World of Adventures.

Our impression:
There is no wow factor when we get in the Wild Asia area. We try not to spoil the day and convinced ourselves that maybe because the theme is wild asia and there’s no novelty for us because, we are from Asia and husband lived there for 10 years. But, that didn’t stop us noticing the obvious.  Some signs are down, loads of flaky paints and green moldy  spots.  The place looks very tired except the Safari area.

We were feeling a little bit down after the Alton Towers which is an obvious winner of wow factor.  We sat down to get some food…and talking about foods?  They are expensive.  It is best to bring your own food for a picnic.
It was also a shame that Olivia didn’t reach the minimum hight to go on a ZUFARI: RIDE INTO AFRICA which she is really up to and I was sad to see her face being disappointed. The queue is forever and the toilets are not the cleanest.

The good bits: Chessington zoo – Market Square – Hocus Pocus
We carried on and tried to find the good bits, we started to look at the animals and our day started to brighten up and the chessington zoo monorail – safari skyway was good family ride and you get to see the animals in Chessington zoo, the mini explorer loved it. The market square was nice too, they’ve got lovely donuts there!
Hocus Pocus 4d experience is fantastic especially the mirror at the end.  Amazing!
Chessington sea life was also great, very similar layout to Alton Towers.

The Highlights: Chessington Sealion Bay
The Chessington Sealion show was the highlights of our visit and made the birthday girl over the moon.  It was a good show.

We did had a good time in the end and the mini explorer had a wonderful birthday.
