Bluestone Wales Family Holiday-Part 1

Hello from Wales! Yup, that’s with my deep Welsh accent.  We’re here after a 4 hour drive plus lots of stops … basically taking our time without a rush and enjoying the ride, thankfully the Little Miss loves travelling.  We are all up for this family holiday and I only read a couple of reviews but, we still don’t know what to expect as we want it to be a surprise to add a kick to the adventure.

We arrived (Monday, 23rd March) about 9:00 in the evening as we also did some food shopping in Tesco on the way in.  We checked-in and slowly followed the one way system to find our way in to our cottage.  It was dark and we struggle to read the signs,  the signs might be small and to be honest, we need to get our eyes checked too.  After another round, we finally found our cottage- Ramsey Lodge (Knights rest), an upside down living which is all the bedrooms, toilet/bathroom are downstairs while the living room and kitchen are upstairs.  Bhoy, we love it!

The double and twin bedroom are en-suite with bathrooms.  The boss toddler already claimed the twin bedroom for herself by jumping on the bed.  Clean towels is a plus, it means you don’t have to pack heavy towels and space grabbing towels for the trip.

Extra: A travel cot bed for little ones but you have to bring your own cot linens.

The kitchen and living room upstairs is an open plan area, fully fitted modern kitchen up to microwave and toaster. Lots of space for the boss toddler to run around too. High chair is also included.  We are on self catering, and the kitchen is complete enough for me to be able to cook dinner.

The only niggle we have on our first night was, no kettle for the tea and coffee lovers but soon as we informed them in the morning, they gave us a kettle within fifteen minutes. Happy bunnies!

In the morning, we had breakfast and went outside and this is what our lodge looks like…what a lovely morning surprise. Ha!   Bluestone Ramsey Cottage Ramsey Cottage-Knights Rest front view

We love the lodge, the little one said she will live here FOREVER. Woah! That’s a dream.

Stay tune for the fun activities!

We loved bluestone when we visited in January. This brought back lots of happy memories. S our toddler boss, loved the “fairy” doors in our bungalow, not sure if you have them in yours, (big doors up high to get storage for bluestone?) Shame about the kettle, that was the first thing on for us!
